Redmine Time Tracking Integration

Connect MaxelTracker with Redmine to import your projects and issues and track time directly in MaxelTracker. Your team runs a timer against an issue, moves it through its workflow as work progresses, and captures all tracked activity data for each hour in MaxelTracker.

Track Time On Redmine Issues With MaxelTracker

Connect MaxelTracker with Redmine to track time against real issues. Import Redmine projects and issues, run a timer per issue, and update issue status with two-way sync.

  • Connect Redmine with MaxelTracker:Once connected, your Redmine projects and issues import into MaxelTracker.
  • Employees open View Projects in the desktop app:Find the work grouped by source with the issue count on every project. Each issue carries its own timer. Start it when work begins and pause it when it stops. The accumulated time stays with that issue rather than landing in a general daily total.
  • Two-way sync:Issue management works from either side. Create an issue in an imported project, assign it to a team member, or move it through the statuses configured for that project in Redmine, and the change syncs to Redmine. Issues created in MaxelTracker are created as real Redmine issues. Edits and new issues made in Redmine flow back the other way, so neither tool holds a stale copy, and nobody records the same progress twice.
  • The time and activity layer:The time and activity layer is where MaxelTracker adds what Redmine does not have. Time spent per issue and per project, issue and closure counts, and the apps and websites each hour were actually spent in all sit together in one dashboard.

How To Connect MaxelTracker With Redmine

Setup runs from a single screen. You need three things from your Redmine instance: the email address on your account, your API access key, and your instance URL.

1

Open Settings > Integrations in MaxelTracker:

Click Configure Integration on the Redmine card.

2

Log in to Redmine:

Open your Redmine instance and sign in with your username and password. Register first if you do not have an account.

3

Check email settings:

This step needs an administrator. Go to Administration > Settings > Email and confirm email delivery is configured for the instance.

4

Copy your API access key:

Open My Account, find the API access key, click Show, and copy it. You can regenerate the key here if you need a new one.

5

Note your base URL:

This is the address of your Redmine instance, provided by your administrator or your hosting service — for example, https://your-redmine-instance.com.

6

Enter your credentials:

Back in MaxelTracker, fill in Email Address, API Key and Base URL, then click Submit.

EnterYourCredentials
7

Check your imported projects:

Open Projects > Integrated. Your Redmine projects are listed with issue counts, time spent, and assignees. Open a project, select an issue, and assign it to the user who will work on it. Assigned issues appear in each employee's desktop app under View Projects, ready to track, and the assignment syncs to Redmine.

Work Smarter with a Powerful Integration

Two way sync

Two-Way Issue Sync

Create an issue, assign an owner, or change a status in MaxelTracker and it updates in Redmine. The status options are the ones your project already uses, because MaxelTracker maps to the workflow of each imported project rather than imposing a fixed set of its own. Make the change in Redmine, and it lands in MaxelTracker. Your team works in whichever tool suits the moment, and neither one falls behind.

Hour Attached

Every Hour Attached To A Real Issue

Project time totals, per-issue time spent, and closed issue counts all read from the same tracked data. When a client or a stakeholder asks where the hours went, the answer is an issue name rather than an estimate.

Activity Behind

The Activity Behind Each Hour

This is what a project tool cannot tell you. Time tracked against Redmine issues flows into MaxelTracker's productivity insights, so you see not only how long an issue took but which apps and websites the work happened in, and how much of it was productive. That is the difference between a number and a decision.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. Connect the two from Settings > Integrations in MaxelTracker. Your Redmine projects and issues import, your team tracks time against them, and issue changes sync in both directions.
